This is a paradise for those who love aviation and following interesting inventions! The aircraft date
from 1927 to 1985. The National Inventors Hall of Fame include Forrest M. Bird whom the museum is named.
This will be a beautiful drive going through Newport, Sandpoint and on to the museum.
On the way back, we will stop for a late lunch (on your own). This will be a fascinating day!

MOSCOW ID HISTORIC WALKING TOUR ** Moderate

A retired architecture professor from the U of Idaho will lead us on a two hour walking tour of the
Fort Russell Historic Dist. We will start by exploring the famed McConnell Mansion. Other sites we
will see include St. Mary’s Catholic church, Moscow Public Library, author Carol Rhyrie Brink’s “pink house”
and the 1912 Center. The professor will join us for lunch (at one of Moscow’s finest). Price of lunch is on your own.

EXPLORE MINERAL RIDGE **Moderate

Are you a serious hiker? Then come join us. The Mineral Ridge Scenic trail Is among the most spectacular
areas around Lake Coeur d’Alene. For 3.3 miles, the roving trail takes hikers on a rising passage
that eventually lands on an overlook point hovering 700 feet above the lake. Climbers are rewarded
for their efforts with spectacular views that simply cannot be enjoyed as well from any other vantage point.
More than just a hike, there are lessons to learn about the ridge’s unique forestry and mining past too.
The brave can even venture into the abandoned mine that ends the short westward trail and hunt for ghosts
from its past. Box lunch catered by Excellence in Entertainment will be provided and on the return we will
stop at their restaurant for ice cream or a milk shake (on your own).
